The center was opened on 10/10/2016 according to Ministerial Resolution No. 1340 issued by the Ministry of Labor and Social Security in the Kurdistan Regional Government - Iraq.

To be a distinguished center that includes the best specialists in implementing specialized educational programs to support children with autism and their families, and for the center to gain the trust of parents and relevant authorities as a consulting center specializing in autism in the region.

Services provided by the Zakho Autism Center

Evaluation Service

The center provides an evaluation service for children who are suspected of having an autism spectrum disorder by conducting a comprehensive assessment of the behavioral, psychological and educational aspects through the application of special standards and tests.

Software Setup Service

The appropriate program is prepared for each case separately, and the different educational training needs are identified. This service is provided for children enrolled in and outside the center.

Rehabilitation and Training Service

Children enrolled in the center are rehabilitated in the social, cognitive and academic fields by qualified trainers.

Speech rehabilitation and Training

Work is being done to develop children's communication skills, both verbal and non-verbal

Individual Session Service

Provides training and rehabilitation sessions (behavior modification, cognitive, academic and speech rehabilitation) for children whose condition is simple or whose circumstances do not allow them to include their child in the center.

  • Which is also known as behavior modification. Applied behavior analysis aims to bring about a positive and radical change in all areas of behavior in the child, whether from the social, linguistic, cognitive or academic fields, as well as reducing unwanted behaviors through the use of scientific strategies such as (reinforcement, indoctrination, formation and sequencing).

  • It is an Italian program that aims to reduce and eliminate the problems of poor visual perception in entering information, realizing the difficulty in perceiving the shape of things in the child, as well as developing manual skills, in addition to teaching the child many cognitive concepts such as perceiving sizes, lengths, colors, and other skills.

  • It is a treatment and education program for children with autism and similar communication disabilities. It is one of the therapeutic programs used with children with autism. The most important pillar of the program is educating autistic people through their strengths, which lie in their visual perception, and compensating them for their weaknesses, which is understanding language and the environment. This is done through organizing the environment and using visual aids such as pictures and written words.

  • It is a program used with children who do not have, as well as cases whose condition does not allow them to be taught to pronounce, and this program helps the child to express his needs, desires, and emotions through the image system, where the child forms a word or sentence through specific images in which he asks for his needs or expresses his feelings and feelings.
